What is an easy way to get your own custom emblem on a Warhammer 40k solider?

I made my own Space Marine Chapter,and it has its own color scheme and everything,but I have know idea how to get their emblem on their shoulders.I know how to use the transfer sheets,but I wanted to give them a custom emblem,but my paintsmanship is suckish,so I need to know if there are any alternatives.

The obvious answer is printable transfer sheets. These are usually available from hobby and craft stores and will take printing from any laser printer. You may need to experiment on regular paper, first, to get the right size of transfer and, of course, you’ll need a reasonable art editing software package to design the symbol in the first place.

Alternatively, you can do some sculpting. Sculpt the emblem with greenstuff onto a single plastic shoulder pad and allow it to cure completely (best to leave it at least 48 hours). Then make up a press mould – I prefer to use Milliput for this, but you can use more greenstuff. This should be a blob of putty large enough that you can press the sculpted shoulder pad right into it. You’ll want to apply a little lubricant to the pad before you press it in, otherwise it’ll stick.

Let the mould cure then remove the pad. Now, for you next shoulder pad, just press a small amount of green stuff into the lubricated mould and, when it cures, remove it and you’ll have a perfect reproduction of your sculpted symbol, really to glue onto a fresh shoulder pad.
