How can you tell if your daughter is allergic to yellow jackets?

Last summer my daughter was playing in the yard and she stepped on a yellow jacket and was stung. Her foot swelled up about 3x its original size. I am about to enroll her in the girl scouts. They are making me fill out a questionnaire, and one of the questions is about whether or not she has any allergies. I cannot afford to take her to an allergist, should I just put her near a hive to find out (and obviously she will get stung…), and see if she swells up again? Thanks in advance!

Most people get stung by bees, wasps and other insects has big reaction to it. anything from swelling, numbness to sharp pain and lost consciousness. I would say ask her to wear good shoes and take along some natural bug repellant.
