Xbox showing vertical lines on screen?

My xbox was working perfectly until the other day, when all of a sudden all these white lines showed up on the screen, so i turned off my xbox until the next day. Now everytime i use it, it works fine for about 5 minutes and then the lines show up again. The weird thing is that when i play mlb 2k9, the field looks clear(no lines) but everything else has the lines on it. Any ideas what the problem is?
-I use a Vizio tv so its in HD if that helps.

It’s called a graphic artifact and it’s going to get worse and worse till you get the rrod or e74 error.

You’ll want to send your xbox into microsoft if it has a warranty, if it doesn’t you’re going to need a reflow.

Microsoft extended your warranty to 3 years from the mfr on the back of your console. This warranty includes any rrod (3 red light error) and E-74 error. Call 1-800-4MYXBOX to contact customer support or go to http://www.xbox.com to start a new repair.

The gpu is losing continuity with the board and causing these errors. A reflow will remelt the solder and fix the continuity issues with the gpu.

Let me know if you don’t have a warranty, i invested in a machine to fix xbox’s and offer a cheap alternative to sending it to microsoft.
