As It’s Nearly Valentines Day, Why Not Take a Romantic UK Short Break with Your Partner?

With February 14th, just a few weeks away, everyone is thinking about romance.

It’s pretty much one of the only times during the year when I do put a bit of effort into spending a bit of time away with my husband.

In the past we have been very fortunate with the places we have stayed.   UK Short breaks can be fantastic, but you do have to be careful that you don’t get ripped off.

For instance last year we stayed at a few different hotels in Wales.    They varied so much in comfort and style, that this year I have decided that I want to stay at a nice cosy cottage instead, where it will just be the 2 of us.

Already I have done some research into where to stay.    I have searched on various search engines for cottage holidays in Wales, weekend breaks in Wales, holiday cottages Wales, etc. etc.

Some of the places showing up have been absolutely fantastic and there are some really stunning cottages out there for rental. Mind you, I would really advise caution when booking.  It is essential that you double check all the small print on any website you decide to book with otherwise you may find you are being charged for a lot more than you thought.

As an example, one of the companies I found actually charged extra for everything, including gas, electricity, logs for the fire, towels, bedding and the list seemed to be never ending.    I couldn’t believe that companies actually charge for bedding.    If I am staying away and already paying money for their property, I don’t expect to have to pay extra for linen.

As of yet I haven’t actually got anything booked. 

So for me I can’t see it’s going to be one of my best Valentines Days to date.  At the moment in our house, there is a bit of an argument going on about where to actually stay.     I especially love the Brecon Beacon area.    There is just so much space there and the Welsh people are absolutely fantastic.

My husband is a huge golf fan, so of course he wants to go to Scotland and play some of their fantastic courses, so all in all unless a quick compromise is found I can’t see our romantic break being anything of the kind!
