USMC Welcome party ideas?

My bf is about to graduate from the USMC bootcamp and i’m veryyyy excited and I want to organize a little SURPRISE “get together” with his friendswhen he gets back! I have no clue what to do like to decorate and for food… obviously something simple but I want to make a banner that says Welcome Back but have no clue how to decorate it or how to design it…should i put the globe emblem?? lol i dont know! what are the marine’s official colors?? Also any ideas on decorations for cupcakes I want to make?? Thank you!

I think he’ll appreciate more that you planned a party for him more than how decorated it is. We did a party for a friend of mine when she graduated from OCS (Officer Candidate School). We made her two cakes, one a red velvet with lemon frosting and the other a yellow sponge cake with red frosting on it (Cause she loves cake). So a red cake with yellow frosting and a yellow cake with red frosting. She appreciated the fact that we’d thought about her and planned the party more than what the decorations looked like. We did a simple banner with the Eagle, Globe and Anchor (Or EGA for short) on each end, running off of a printer and sticking up the pages in the correct order. She loved it.
