My great grand father enlisted in the army in lisburn Northern Irelandin the 1830 approx. for 21 years he served in Indian for 18 years before returning home to finish his service.His name was john toland.
that is interesting. You realize that he just missed the Indian Mutiny. Any papers and medals you have you should keep or donate to his old regimental museum.
