Spring Summer Flag
Random Question: Korean Flag?
Okay, this is a random thought that popped into my head earlier today:
Last year, I read this book on Korean. A story, but in it it had bits a pieces about Korean culture, and I remember at one point the father was explaining the flag to his children. There were four corners that represented four things. Hahaha the only thing I can remember is one corner for North, East, South and West, and Summer, Spring, Winter, and Fall. There are two more categorytype things I cannot remember.

The South Korean flag is full of Taoist concepts: Yin/Yang in the middle and 4 of the 8 trigrams, known as the Bagua in Chinese, from the Yi Jing / I Ching AKA Book of Changes.
The three full lines = “sky/heaven”
Opposite this with three broken lines = “earth”
The one with a broken line in the middle of two full lines = “fire”
Opposite this is the sign standing for “water”.
Three full lines = Sky = Heaven = East = Spring
Three broken lines = Ground / Land = Earth = West = Autumn
One broken line & two full lines = Fire = Sun = South = Summer
One full line & two broken lines = Water = Moon = North = Winter
Note: most of what’s above is from the Chinese Bagua concepts, but some of the things used by the South Koreans are no longer correct, at least, when you compare it to Chinese explanation of the Bagua and what it stands for.
Red & Blue:
Darker = Blue = Yin
Lighter = Red = Yang
