Low cost advertising ideas for a small business? What would interest you?

I work for a company that makes and sells custom hand sewn decorative flags , such as the ones you see in people’s yards or gardens. I am trying to get ideas together that would sell our products to individuals and promote our business. ( Our flags run about $135, depending on the custom order). Please any suggestions that may help our marketing or draw more customers would be great! I’d also like to hear what would influence you to buy a flag like ours (if anything!) thanks I would appreciate suggestions/feedback!

First, do some keyword research and find out if there is a market online for your products, then start a blog about the flags, make some videos about them, showing samples and post them on all of the video sites, eg. viddler, vimeo, metacafe, You tube. Submit your site to all of the online business directories; there are hundreds of them. Also make sure that your site is well optimized nd for this I suggest a wordpress blog as the search engines love them and they are fairly well optimized to start.
If you are new to the on online thing, do some research, but frankly, well over 90% of consumers searching fro any product or service do it on the internet either on a pc or a mobile device, so to market offline is essentially a waste of money.
Being on the internet for a small business is no longer an option and those businesses that fail to recognize this will not be here in 5 years. Sad but very true.
