Red Color

What color should I paint my hall that ajoins my deep red kitchen?

I just painted my kitchen a deep red color (Raspberry Truffle from Benjamin Moore). My floor tile is a stone with light and dark brown and some cream and grey mixed in. I started to paint the ajoining hall and entry a taupe color and it looks awful. I think the red is making it have an orange tint to it and making it look like a flesh color. I am thinking of painting it a mustard yellow color but am afraid it will look orange because of the red. Any suggestions?

all very dark colors. it would depend on what the rest of the house has, and what colors the other rooms are that are attached to that hall.

i would keep it in the food family. sounds like your baking a pie, so i would keep pie colors. i would use that same red, and add some yellow to that. it will make it orange, but with the same flavor as the kitchen…

or – maybe this. maybe you can paint the halls rasberry, same as the kitchen. and place a dark orange over that, but sponge it on. it would add texture and two colors are once. the dark orange would compliment the floors. and as for trim, i would make that a crust color.
