Is it acceptable for straight people to march in the NYC gay pride parade?
So now that the marriage equality bill passed, I really wanna celebrate with some of my lgbtq friends. I’d really like to march with them and a couple other straight friends in the pride parade tomorrow. I was thinking of marching with the empire state pride agenda group. Would that be like…acceptable, even though sevral of my friends any I are straight? Or is pride just sort of only for gay people to show there pride. Is it acceptable just to march in support of them?
Yes, it is very acceptable for straight people to march in any gay pride parade, especially the one in New York City, and gay people are very accepting of everyone who wants to march in the parade.
I am a gay male and live in San Francisco. Every year that I attend the Pride parade in San Francisco, there’s always a group of people marching in the parade, carrying signs that read “STRAIGHTS FOR GAYS.” That group always gets much applause by the parade attendees.
