Michael Vick Takes Animal Well Being Very Seriously Now
In 2009, Vick was not probably the most popular man in the National Football League or on People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals message boards. His place in a grotesque dogfighting scandal – operated straight out of his Virginia house – led to numerous animal fatalities. Many individuals found Vick to be too disgusting to contemplate after that, while others took more of a wait-and-see attitude. Perhaps he might learn his lesson and reform, they said. As the Huffington Post reports, Vick seems to be convincing more people that he’s sincere about making amends.
Animal rights taught by Michael Vick
Michael Vick has had done well for himself on the football field this year, regardless of that he isn’t letting it distract him from doing right by the animal loving community. At Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Conn., Michael Vick most recently spoke about animal welfare and the mistakes he made by participating in canine blood sport. He has also made and will continue to make numerous public appearances since he completed his 18-month prison sentence for dog fighting, and is the former owner of “Bad Newz Kennels.” He is attempting to reach out to kids in hopes they’ll follow the right path instead of the wrong, and will learn from his mistakes according to the Huffington Post.
Learning from his mistakes
Bad Newz Kennels had been busted by the police, Vick didn’t just turn himself in. It takes no stretch of the imagination to envision Vick’s dogfighting activities continuing if the authorities hadn’t been alerted. Vick nonetheless has realized the error of his ways and has grown-up from his mistakes. .
“I didn’t really care what people felt about animals,” Michael Vick said just lately to the new Haven Register. “I didn’t care about the welfare of animals.”
Currently Vick is righting his wrongs. While such a path may be accessible to only some of the animals who used to call Bad Newz Kennels home, Michael Vick can’t erase past mistakes. He can only create a better future.
One day at a time
The Post states that the fact that Vick’s dogs were forced into fighting and it wasn’t a choice they had any control over is what made a huge impact on Vicks. Vick’s decisions haunt him each day, he is even reminded of them when his kids so much as ask for a pet. Vick’s isn’t allowed to own an animal ever again due to his choices he made in life.
