Nylon Huge
can i use 100% acrylic yarn in the same blanket as 20% nylon 80% acrylic?
i am crocheting a rainbow blanket and i can’t find all the colours i want in the same yarn, i found most of them in a 20% nylon 80% acrylic but there’s one or two colours in a 100% acrylic that would kind of complete the theme.
the 100% acrylic is the same thickness (it’s all a relatively heavy 8 ply) and same texture (or at least as close as the different colours and batches of 20% nylon 80% acrylic) but i’m wondering if that would change after a couple of washes? Does nylon shrink differently to acrylic by much?
I’m only doing 2 rows of stitching of each colour, so it wouldn’t be a huge section of different fibre.
Go for it! Neither acrylic nor nylon shrinks at all! The only difference might be stretch but in a blanket it does not matter a single bit. Some designs use different materials on purpose; even different weights.
