Military Banner
Help identifying a pin, maybe military?
we came across this pin, it is old and of a heavier metal than modern pins, round, with a cross in the background, a crown fust under the center of the cross,with the word “United” written in a banner under the crown, and a S on each side of the cross. on the rim of the pin are four maple leafs, located at the 4 points of the compass, linked by a ring of what looks like horseshoes.
we believe the pin might be an old military pin, if this description at all rings a bell please let us know. any opinion at all of the pins or background would be greatly appreciated
When I read “four maple leafs located at the 4 points of the compass”, I instantly thought 4th infantry division, but the rest sounds unfamiliar to me.
