Looking for gifts for patriotic individuals, my brother and dad.?

they both have flagpoles with american flags in their front yards, windchimes, shadow boxes with metals they earned while in the navy…so im looking for something other than stuff along those lines. something unique…so if anyone knows of something neat to give, let me know! thanks.

I made some felt shoe bags for Christmas gifts one year. I was too financially strapped to do anything but what I could make. They were fun and easy, and they’re great for traveling. I got the idea from a catalogue. You could use red white and blue for the colors of our flag, or you could do red with blue anchor cut-outs (for the navy) sewn or glued on top. You just cut a length of felt, long enough for a man’s shoe and then some, sew on three sides, turn down the top for a casing, insert pretty cording for a drawstring, and voila, you’ve got a nifty practical gift. Inexpensive enough to make two or three sets for each man, and way better to use than plastic grocery bags when packing shoes for a trip. Also neat to use in the closet for good shoes, so they don’t get dust bunnies or bugs in them between infrequent wearings.
