Which sleeping bag of the two is better?
I have two sleeping bags, and I do a lot of camping. I camp in the summer, winter, hot, cold, wet, dry, woods, rock… pretty much anything. Anyway, I’m doing a 9-day high adventure thing near Magdalena, New Mexico, in the summer. It’s sopposed to be hot during the day, cold at night-but above freezing. So, I don’t know which of my two sleeping bags to bring.
1- a lightweight “pertex” bag, I’m not sure if that’s the company.. it also says things on the tag like “EMS LT 20″ , “Thinsulate lite loft insulation”, and “3M”. I’ve used it before, and it works good, although it isn’t very waterproof.
2- a slightly heavier “L.L Bean” “Hollofil 808″, I have not used this yet but it looks warm.
They are both filled with polyester, but the pertex lining is Nylon, and the LL bean just looks like a blanket on the inside.
Which one should I use for cold, but not freezing weather? Which one in general is bettter?

I’d have to say the LL Bean, because you want something warm at night, but during the day you might want something still comfortable. I would use the other one if you were roughing it but I think if you’re just planning on setting up a camp to sleep in at night the LL Bean would be more comfortable. Thats my two cents.
