How do you deter people from stealing your decorative house flag?

I live in a small city and I’m pretty sure that kids are the culprits as I’ve heard stories about other flags, wreaths etc. being nabbed. It is ridiculously annoying and I need ideas on how to make my flagpole and (expensive) decorative flags theft proof!

You could try putting a camera out there at night with an infrared floodlight nearby. Or a regular floodlight! In fact, just a floodlight could work… Or a motion detector. You could use a lock to lock your flag to something. Just a simple luggage lock should do. You could also buy a gps locator and sew it into the flag, eventually tracking down the culprit and sending the police after him.
