Penalties for using a hand held mobile whilst driving are to be increased?

Lord Adonis, speaking in the House of Lords, has said that the Government is now seriously considering increasing the penalties on anyone caught using a hand held mobile whilst driving. The existing fine is £60 and 3 points on your licence. They’re considering making that 4 points on your licence. Wow! Now isn’t that impressive? Do they really think that will stop those stupid enough to do this anyway? Do you think it could be retrospective for Hattie Harman?
