Taking Care of Your Drip Irrigation System: System Maintenance
The gardening task is enjoyable if done rightly. Only if you have perfect watering schedule, it becomes easy for you to grow and maintain your garden. In order to make your task simpler, know some gardening tips.
Your Drip System: Keep Your Eye on Emitters!
Suppose you are a new gardener, start properly. According to your garden size and the type of plants, you need to design your irrigation system.
For smooth water supply, keep an eye on your emitters. You will need just one emitter, for a new plant. But as your newly planted plant starts growing, its watering need also will grow!
Make your drip irrigation somewhat flexible keeping in mind the emitters. As your garden expands, you will have to increase the number of emitters and change their positions in the landscape to reach your plants. You will have to adjust your system, if you have big trees or some mature plants in your garden.
Remember that the every emitter of your system, should give at least 30 minute run time without excess.
What Will You Do to Make Your System Run Smooth?
In order to have full benefit of your irrigation system, make regular check ups. Remove the blockage or repair the part if you find some leakage.
Check the drip line of your system regularly to see if there is blockage or leakage. Check out the emitters to make sure that there is no clog and the release of water is normal.
Always remember to flush your filter and drip lines to make them clear; this task has to be done at least twice a year. See your valve box, and the “end camp” on your line. Then open that cap, turn your system on to flush the line. This will remove the hindrance or clogging in your drip lines and your system will run smoothly.
Install your drip irrigation supplies into right order to making your system. Always remember that systems are made for making your task simpler and convenient, so use them logically and shrewdly to get the best results!
