Flowers Decorative

Revive rosebush and low maintenance inexpensive flowers/decorative plants that will fare well in Michigan.?
I am moving to a rental house in mid-June with some small flower beds. I have never planted anything before so no clue how to start or what to plant. I think there will be pretty good sunlight in the flower area. I know that there are some Lilly of the Valley and Daffodils in there right now. Also, there is a small rosebush. The landlord said it used to be fuller, but was almost destroyed by the previous occupants. Is there any way to revive it? Thanks so much in advance!
I live in lower Michigan and I plant a variety of flowers check your local green house or plant shop. As for the rose bush I suggest you prune off any dead or damaged area’s and feed it some miracle grow save and crush your eggshells in an old milk jug {gallon} add water to these and use the water for the rose. Cover the rose bush with an old bucket or garbage can this winter. Marigolds and pansy’s petunia’s, all grow well in Michigan and require little work. Moss rose’s and Sweet William’s are also low maintenance. Good Luck.
