The Many Uses of Flags

The purposes of a flag serves are as varied as its kinds or types. Although used in a variety of ways, a flag primarily serves as a form of signaling and identification. Flags were first used as military tools of communication, especially on battlefields. Flags can help mark a particular territory or send a message. Apart from these, flags can also be used as a device for information dissemination.

Flags can also be used to commemorate historical or significant events. In fact, during significant holidays, the people from some countries practice the tradition of displaying their countries’ national flags prominently in their homes.
