Found letters from his ex…red flag?
I am good friends with a guy who is recently getting out of an engagement with a girl he was with for 3 yrs. They have been broken up about 6 months. He has acted interested in me and we are together all the time.
The other day, I was in his room while he was in the shower. I was getting something from his nightstand when I noticed a few cards with girl hand writing. I know I shouldn’t have read them but I did, sure enough they were from his ex, very sweet little notes, and they weren’t shoved down to the bottom either so I know he knows they’re in there. Also he has been in and out of that drawer in front of me dozens of times and made no effort to throw them away. Not only that, but I borrowed his laptop the other day for a project and saw in his picture files that he had a bunch of folders of things they had done together.
Is he still hung up on her? We are not together but i’m not going to pursue a man whose affections are elsewhere.
It could be that he’s over her and so he doesn’t feel the need to hide anything. Or it could also be than he would never imagine you’d look through his stuff so left it out carelessly. I wouldn’t focus on it too much. As long as he doesn’t keep in close contact with her then it doesn’t matter. Next time you come over see if they are still there collecting dust. I have a feeling those cards don’t mean that much to him if he just has them out on his desk like that.
