Double Sided Monogram

what side of a double bed do the hems of the pillowcases go?

I am trying to make monogrammed pillowcases, where the monogram is in the very middle of the pillowcase. For this to work, I need to know the proper placement of the pillowcase hems on the bed. Do they hang off the edges or meet in the middle of the bed?

They shoud face the outside of the bed.
