Are the new people who call themselves Conservatives actually Moderate or Blue Dog Democrats?

While there are more people identifying themselves as Conservatives, they are not identifying themselves with Republicans. In fact only one in five Americans say they are Republican. Another strange fact is that the majority of these “new” conservatives are pro-Gay Rights and in favor of a Woman’s Right to abortion. While they are clearly for Guns and small Government they certainly cannot be accepted into todays Republican party. Will they be the new Blue Dogs? Will they become independents?

I teach Math at a well known college and i can tell you one thing these new Conservatives are not at all what you would call a Conservative. More like a Progressive when it comes to social issues and much smarter than a Conservative when it comes to the economy, they are not all all Cut Tax only but rather smaller effective Goverment. Most I have talked to are also pro-guns and also pro Gay Rights., If this is the new breed of Conservative no wonder the polls show that there are 60%, these are Democrats basically with very Conservative Fiscal policies. I am all for it! Anything beats the republican party of now…stuck in the past,old stale and tired ideas that have already failed. Social intolernace. These are things the New generation has come to find unacceptable, I for one am quite happy with the new generation.
