cat attacks plants?

i had four chick & hen (or hen & chick?) plants in the house. they were thriving and my cat was behaving so well for weeks. then, yesterday he attacked all four and kicked the dirt out of the pots. what can i do in the future to keep my cat away from the plants? obviously, i don’t want to use physical barriers, because that will take away from the decorative value of the vases & plants. is there a spray or something that will be a turn off to the cat?

Sounds like your cat is trying to use it as dirt tray.
There is a product on the market called Pet behavioural spray, used for puppy /kitten training etc. Another alternative is either to use vinegar, put some on cotton wool and wipe the pots with it, also lemon is a good idea to. wont harm your cat, but they cant abide the smell. best of luck.
Ypu could also get some fish gravel and place that over the soil of you pots, that will protect them. Cats hate gravel.
