Lying on the beach or sitting on a beach chair?

I used to always just take a towel to the beach and lying on the beach.
but I always wanted to have a beach chair so I could sit and watch the ocean,
read and enjoy and relax.
I bought a little beach chair a few days ago and love it. Just I don’t have a
car and have to carry it. It has a bag though but it must be carried anyway.
My mother says I just threw some money away. I like it a lot but hearing
what mom says and knowing that I have to carry it, I’m just thinking maybe
I have only wasted my money. What do you think?

I prefer the chair. I can sit up and see the water or recline and sleep. The surface of the chair is smooth instead of lumpy like the sand. My chair has a cup holder so I can put my drink in it and it doesn’t get sand all over it. The chair is just much better overall.

As long as you don’t mind carrying the chair on the bus, it was not a waste of money.
