What does an Intelligence Officer in the Army National Guard do?
What would an MI Officer do when not on active duty and when deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan?
I am about ready to become an officer in the Army National Guard and I am trying to pick a branch that will give me opportunities in the civilian world.
When not on active duty: Whatever you want.
When in training or deployed: Depends on what type of unit you’ll be assigned to. Do you know where you’re going? If you’re a battalion S-2, you’ll be in charge of the intel and briefing the commander on all things intel related. You’ll have some analysts, etc working for you. If you’re going into an MI battalion, it could be a whole different ball game.
